Main Applications

Polymer Materials Field:

Polydicyclopentadiene (PDCPD): Produced via ROMP process, featuring high impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and lightweight characteristics, used for automotive body panels (such as hoods, bumpers), construction formwork, sanitary equipment, etc.

Unsaturated Polyester Resin: Copolymerized with maleic anhydride to improve the heat resistance and mechanical properties of the resin, used in fiberglass reinforced plastics and pipe manufacturing.

Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM): Used as a third monomer (such as ethylidene norbornene) to improve the vulcanization properties and weather resistance of rubber.

Petroleum Resins and Coatings:

C5 Petroleum Resin: Copolymerized with isoprene, used as a tackifier for adhesives, inks, and coatings.

Alkyd Resin: Reacted with fatty acids to improve the drying speed and water resistance of coatings.

Pharmaceutical and Agrochemical Intermediates:

Synthesis of adamantane (drug for treating Parkinson's disease), insecticides (such as chlordane, endosulfan), etc.

Other Applications:

High-energy Fuel: Dicyclopentadiene and its hydrogenated products have high density and high calorific value, and can be used as rocket propellants.

Fragrances and Flavors: Synthesis of precious fragrances such as sandalwood alcohol via cyclization reactions.
